Was Ghislaine Maxwell a Highly Influential Reddit Moderator!

Some Internet sleuths have discovered that a Reddit account which was #8 in terms of “link karma” (among the 330 million active Reddit accounts), which had moderator privileges on top Subreddits such as r/worldnews (one of the most widely viewed news sites in the world), was operated by none other than horse-faced rapist and sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. In other words, those running Reddit considered Ghislaine Maxwell important nine years before Jeffrey Epstein entered the public consciousness in 2019! The account has been inactive for a week since she was supposedly arrested by the FBI in New Hampshire. But there are indications it picked up activity later on, indicating that she has access to her devices.

• It didn’t take anons long to find this comment, which is a link to a Neural Brain Mapping article published October 21, 2016 titled “Evidence for superior neurobiological and behavioral inhibitory control abilities in non‐offending as compared to offending pedophiles”.

• An anon reported the /u/MaxwellHill comment containing that link was deleted in real time

• I have not confirmed Reddit scrubbed the three-year-old comment in the anon’s screencap. However, I typed in the link posted to see what it was, and got a 404 error. I found the page was archived by the Wayback Machine, including a capture a few days after Jiz Mossadwell posted it, on October 29, 2016. But when I tried to view that page, I got an error that said “Access to Wiley Online Library has been temporarily suspended at your institution.” I was able to find the article by removing “abstract” from the url.

• Another anon found this 13-year-old thread from 2006, “Ephebophilia: it’s today’s word, and it matters”, where she discusses age of consent laws by state. This was posted the year she joined Reddit and according to her lawyers, stopped working for Epstein (unclear what publication this is from).

• Here’s a real winner she posted to r/worldnews entitled “Falkevinge: Three strong reasons child porn must be legalized in the coming decade” archive. Here’s the article she linked: http://archive.vn/kJgOM

You guys obviously understand this is big news, but I don't think you understand HOW BIG of news this is. If Reddit admins knowingly gave control of Reddit's frontpage (essentially) to Ghislaine Maxwell for the last 10 years, that means:

1) They considered Ghislaine Maxwell important for 9 fucking years before Jeffrey Epstein entered the public consciousness in 2019
2) Reddit's executives are implicated by pedogate, and this will probably lead to the shutdown of Reddit itself
3) One of the largest left-leaning news sites in the entire world was managed by a global pedo ring

Also, SOMEONE WHO IS GOOD WITH WGET/CURL CRAWL THROUGH HER COMMENTS PLEASE

EDIT: Breaks in u/maxwellhill’s posting history on Reddit lines up with the disappearance of Madeline McCann!

Major Update (13th September 2025): On 29th August 2025, a Reddit user fthesemods posted some very convincing arguments which vindicate the earlier assertions:

Ghislaine Maxwell was the lead mod Maxwellhill who controlled /worldnews and others

Ghislaine Maxwell is Maxwellhill. A former powermod that controlled many default subs like /worldnews

Now you all know Ghislaine Maxwell. There is a conspiracy theory she controlled the account Maxwellhill on Reddit. That user was a lead mod on a many subs including influential ones worldnews, technology, politics, environment, etc. They were controversial for being a lead mod on so many subs and controlling who became a mod without doing any actual moderating. There are many other posts on this, but they don’t highlight the strongest points, don’t talk about the writing style (her emails were recently released) and often don’t talk about the motive for a British socialite wanting to control key Reddit subs.

1: Timing. Obviously this is key. Maxwellhill stopped posting on June 28, 2020, and Ghislaine was on the run and arrested on July 2 in a remote location. Maxwellhill had over 32000 submissions since 2006 and posted almost every single day up until that point. Vice later contacted Maxwellhill for comment for, ironically, a debunking article on this theory and received no response. Ghislaine’s lawyer did not respond to Vice either. Why has the user not publically responded once since that date? Why not leave any clues on why they would stop posting all of a sudden?

2: Maxwellhill’s writing style. Ghislaine is British. The user used the term bollocks numerous times, a British term. They also used the phrase “the mind boggles” and “bloody hell”, also British phrases. More importantly, they wrote “plse” in their comment and posts.. a very unusual short form that is not commonly used. Ghislaine also uses “plse” multiple times in her email to her lawyer written Jan 10, 2015. This was released by the courts recently.

3: The fine details. The counter to this theory is a /worldnews mod named hasharin (who also posted a supposed private chat log between him and Maxwellhill after June 28 to debunk the theory – something easily falsifiable) wrote that Maxwellhill was a man living in Malaysia and his name was based off the former name of a location in Malaysia. The problem is that Maxwellhill had written offhand they had “visited” Malaysia. Why would you visit a place that you live in? Why does a Malaysian use British phrases and slang? Not only that, there was one comment by Maxwellhill where she signed off: “Cheers. Max :)” if the user name is just based off an obscure location, why sign off as Max if it’s just a meaningless user name? Ghislaine even named her dog Max.

Ghislaine herself was technologically savvy. She called herself an “internet operator” and even had a tumblr account, which is unusual for someone for her age.

Maxwellhill wrote 15 years ago that they were born in December. A user replied with a date indicating December 21 to which Maxwellhill replied that their birthday was after that date, meaning her birthday was between Dec 22 to 31. Ghislaine’s birthday is December 25.

Gizmodo did an interview with Maxwellhill at the end of Dec 2011. Gizmodo wrote: “The amazing thing about the emails we’ve been trading back and forth is that Maxwellhill has revealed almost no personal details. That’s actually awesome. The magic of anonymized Internet identity is that Maxwellhill could be anyone.”

I thought this was hilariously ironic today.

Notably, Maxwellhill had this to say during the interview: “I am also busy with a potential business venture that is taking a large part of my time, but I try to squeeze in the odd link when I have the time…”

Ghislaine officially founded The TerraMar Project in 2012. It was a NGO focused on ocean conservation. Maxwellhill was active in /environment, /climate and /oceans.

4: Motive. Ghislaine’s father Robert Maxwell was a high level Mossad operative before his mysterious death. Former Israeli intelligence, Ari Ben-Menashe, said he was a Mossad agent and went to the media with this shortly before Robert’s death. Robert was a publishing magnate that controlled newspapers, textbooks, etc. Victor Ostrovsky who was former Mossad said Robert’s publications were used as Israeli propaganda. The Daily Mirror, which Robert owned, was known for having a pro Israel slant. Today, /worldnews is known for its pro Israel nature (banning users who criticize Israel and deleting articles critical of Israel). Maxwellhill bragged to Gizmodo about turning /worldnews from a fledgling sub to a top one. They were a powermod who controlled who could be a mod, which allowed them to control moderation of those subs indirectly and subtly. Ghislaine was said to be Robert’s favourite child out of 9 children (he even named his yacht after her) and she acted as his right hand in business dealings. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Ghislaine is her father’s daughter. He made her a director of Oxford United FC and tailor-made a New York company for her. She is extremely secretive about her affairs and describes herself as an internet operator. [my emphasis]

The internet made her sisters, the twins, Isabel and Christine, 50, a fortune. Their success was based on a company which produced a search engine called Magellan, which they sold to Excite for 11.25 million of Excite shares.

Magellan was part of the McKinley Group, which is led by Isabel’s former husband, David Hayden. Isabel also has shares in CommTouch, an Israeli internet firm, but it is understood that her holding of 9.5 million has dropped in value to 300,000. She lives with her son, Alex, in a 500,000 apartment in New York.

I don’t necessarily buy that she was a reddit mod, but I would like to know what she meant by this!

I’m pretty convinced it was her. I read most of the posts from that account in 2020 and 2021 and it NEVER posted anything on Epstein when he was arrested in 2019…instead posting about a girl getting raped in a factory in Spain (an attempt to sway the news given the points raised in this posted about her knowing how to be savvy at getting a sub ranked). There’s some detailed writeup someone did somewhere about the Maxwell house in Britain being on the hill. This is a woman who named her dogs “Max” and who also went by “Max” (I’ve seen it on a sign-in sheet she signed and also in emails). But when she was doing her Terra-Mar thing, she named her dog (a Viszla) “Captain Nemo” (Jules Verne not the Disney cartoon she was quick to point out).

The Maxwells did live at Headington Hill at Oxford.

During the /technology drama it was noted by other mods that she didn’t actually moderate. She just controlled who became mod and spammed links. Around 5 articles a day on average. Wouldn’t take absurdly long to be honest. She barely commented. She accumulated karma like crazy because most of her posts went right to the front page due to her account age, existing karma and frequent posting on default subs all of which impacts the Reddit algorithm. She had a huge hold on influencing online news dissemination.
